120 German Chambers of Commerce Abroad, offices of delegates and representatives of German Industry and Commerce (AHKs) assist enterprises in 80 countries that are interested in establishing business contacts with Germany. Originated from an initiative of private enterprises, the AHKs are an institution with a self-administrative structure under the law of the host country. They are the official organization of German foreign trade promotion abroad. With their local economic experience, they represent the biggest service-network worldwide. The operating areas in their host country consist of economic and legal information, organization and support services for meetings, representations of German fairs abroad, market studies, technological transfer, environmental protection, promotion of trade and investment, public relation activities and further vocational training. All offices of the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) offer the same standard services – qualified in acordance with ISO 9002. In addition, AHKs offer customer-oriented services according to the individual demands in specific foreign markets.
